Harold was a long time member of the football team.  Although he didn't get to start (this was true for many of us), he was always dedicated, faithful and hard-working.  I remember he had the "do" that he curled in front.  He was also the first guy we knew who had to shave regularly.  His brother Barron is a dentist in Lex (or was) who was also on the team.  Harold died much too young.  He was a great guy.

Harold could talk!  Maybe 8th grade, he got on a phone jag and called the house so much, my mother talked to him as much as I did.... even when I wasn't home.  She loved Harold... thought he was a sweet soul but needed Advice.  I think he slowed down the calls when he got smitten with Nancy Farmer.

Harold and Demi Brand were buddies.. lived near each other and close to me.  One night, Demi walked into my bedroom... sat on the bed .  talked a long time.  I don't know how he got past my Dad!  And Demi was BIG.  Anybody know where he is?

Harold,,,
Many remember Harold as a Suave and Sophisticated Dude,,, I know I did all through HS and many years following. I have a story which will surprise many, repulse some but tickle the hell out of most of you..
He and I went drinking in Chevy Chase one night during the week. I don't know the subject came up, but somehow we got into a "Maclo" contest to prove our "Manhood" by taking turns hitting one another in our gut... We'd take turns and then sit down for another "Round",,, get up and do it again, sit and have another round...

I don't know how many times we rehearsed that idiocy but we finally tired,, we both considered it a "Draw" which surprised him, but not me, I knew he was a lot tougher than he like to admit...

Just as soon as we exited this bar, we saw some fellas turning over mail boxes and newspaper dispensoers,,,
Well, unbeknownst to me, Harold knew all 5 of these guys and yelled out a challenge, like,,, "Hey Hoodlums, You Can't Do That" and he started running across the street at them... WELL ALL OF A SUDDEN Don Eagle showed up in me and I passed him going 100 MPH (His words after the fact) and I jumped the biggest dude in the bunch..

Long story short, Harold and I held our own and did pretty good, so much so that the 5 calmed down and finally harold could tell me that he knew these guys and we Actually Shouldn't Have Gone to War... Peace was called and we all went our merry way,,, And I thought all was well UNTIL I SHOWED UP at his house the next day and his Mom met me at the door and Slapped me so hard across my face I couldn't remember my name,,, Then she had me come in and fed us breakfast.... WOW,,, What a family
I miss you Hal

Harold and Baron were also Meadowthorpe boys. I remember hanging out in their basement, though I don't remember why we were there. I vaguely recall something about spinning a bottle.
