Patsy lived on the next street from where I lived. We went to the same school in the 5th grade (Porter Memorial Baptist Church in the basement). That was a year that Fayette County had a shortage of classroom space. She was learning to play flute, and I was learning to play trumpet. We went to a weekly band class at Centenary Methodist. We also rode the same school bus for several years.
I also grew up with Patsy. She lived near me, we were in Brownies, Girl Scouts together and Glendover. I spent time at her home. She was such a sweet girl. She was an only child and I felt so sorry for her parents when I heard of her passing. It is my understanding that she had not enjoyed good health even in her childhood.
