Perry was a great guy. We shared lockers one term. He was always on the go and loved football. I had not seen him since high school then ran into him at one of the reunions. Hadn't changed all that much.

Over eight years ago, Perry was diagnosed with an incurable lung disease for which no cause was determined and received a lung transplant at Vanderbilt University Hospital. He and his wife of 54 years, Darlene Neal Bozarth (LHS '66), approached this extremely demanding situation with courage, hard work and a glass half-full mentality. It was sad but also uplifting to watch these two. I had spent time with them in our teens and since 2009 as neighbors. The combined talents of this duo amazed me. Perry and I also worked together on neighborhood projects. He was smart, wise and kind. I am so grateful that I got to be around him in our later years.
