I remember in Junior Bowling League at Southland Lanes that I bowled against Lorne and he bowled with a white bowling ball and have a very good average.

Lorne played tuba in the band; not sure if he stayed in through our senior year.  He was a very bright student who was gifted in the sciences.

When I first learned of our class reunions in 2004, without a class yearbook and after the 40-year flood of life's events, Lorne (I remember him as "Scotty") was one of only a small handfull of classmates whose names I could still remember.  We lived a few blocks from each other during eighth grade and became friends due to our mutual science interests.  I remember playing with a Van de Graff electrostatic generator in his home and watching it make miniature lightning strokes.  He also introduced me to the techniques and materials for making homemade rockets and fireworks, in an era when such knowledge didn't lead to prison sentences!  I had been looking forward eagerly to seeing him again at the reunion after so many years and was sad to learn of his passing.  I believe he had an older brother named Charles who had attended college at MIT, inspiring me to apply there during our senior year.
