My hat is off to the 50th reunion committee.  What a great reunion.  Margie and I had a wonderful time.  Margie was a little apprehensive of not knowing anyone which wasn't true.  She had a wonderful time and met some new people which is always good.  Thank you again for such tireless and hard work you should be proud of the results.  Thank You!  Robert & Margie Riggs

As others have said, this was a terrific event.  Between the afternoon event at 6th street and the evening reception and dinner dance, I feel like I was able to visit with more people than previous events.  Still, I think I missed a few and wish I could have spent more time with some I was able to chat with.  I look forward to the next one.  Thanks to all involved in the planning and execution.  Phil Marcum

This web site is a great way to keep in touch and announce events. The reunion was a total success.Everyone involved is greatly appreciated. I would like to suggest that we add our email to our profile. Maybe on an address line that is unused. Comments?

The best ever!  How do they do it?  Wish I had been there.  Wait, maybe I was.  I know my wife was there, because she told me how wonderful everyone was to her. And what wonderful planning and organization.  Let's do it again next month.

All Marcia and I talked about on our way back to North Carolina (Sunday24th) was what an outstanding reunion we attended. Thanks to the reunion committee and thier spouses that supported them in pulling off such a great event.

Yes, Holly...I remember we had a choice of Henry Clay or Lafayette.  I also remember your father advising us that he thought Lafayette the better school....so that's what we chose.  It was a good choice for me.  I had been at Cassidy since first grade and then Morton for all three years....

Dad was always up on what was happening in the education world. Glad you think he made the right choice too.

There are no words to express how thankful all of us were for the committee's work.  It was obvious that months had gone into the planning.  Jim Ishmael, I wish I had recorded your prayer.  I've thought so many times about how our lives changed the day Kennedy was shot.  We were blessed to have grown up in the time before that tragic event.  You made me feel so blessed to have been a General with the best class Lafayette ever had.  Thank you again to those who planned our 50th and Jim Brinegar, you were there.  I saw you and your wife together several times.  I still haven't figured out though  how you ended up with such a beautiful wife!

Everyone has summed it up.Great! Like Nancy, this was my first reunion, so I can not really comment on weather this was the best one or not, but if the others were good, I would have to say this was probably the greatest. I really enjoyed myself. The committee did a tremendous job with this one. I would have loved to got up and danced more. I love to dance, but I would have to had an 8 pack of oxygen in the room, so I could keep up with Linda. She wore me out just watching her up there. I did have to make a trip to the car for another bottle of oxygen, about half way into the night, my fault, I should have brought a spare in with me. I hated to see the night end, I was having so much fun. I had some good conversation with a lot of great people. Love you all, for giving me a good time. I was really needing the break. Now that I am refreshed from seeing friends and my 3 beautiful sisters, it is back home. Again the time went by too fast. I would love to do this again.

Wish I knew how to transport a video from Facebook to our Website...I think listening to " MY OLD KENTUCKY HOME" would be appropriate right about now...wish I could hug everyone at the same time??

What a wonderful 50th reunion,  thanks to our reunion committee. They worked hard for all of us to have a great time. The problem was it was over too quickly and I didn't get to talk with everyone. I wish the people that are still in Lexington, or near by, could get together once a month or two months and have dinner and talk. I hope everyone has good health and back for the 55th reunion.  I wish we could go back to 1964 if only in our dreams. Life was easy then.

I think someone wanted people to put their email address on the message forum. I think that is a good idea. That way we only serve our own. Mine is b.miles@frontier.com. I would love to  hear from anyone and everyone. I had a lot of good conversation at the reunion. But it did not last long enough. 5 to 7 hours is not enough time to talk about the past 50 years. Did not even get to talk about family, kids, grandkids, greatgrandkids. If I am around for another 8 years or so, it will be great greatgrandkid, but I hope not. He needs to grow up a whole lot.

Made it back and washing cloths and Sleeping for 11 hrs.   Time change it was great and I sure was blessed being able to see everyone and dance and eat and play golf well that is a gray area.  But it well worth the time to be their and Lexington, Ky has sure changed.  Got lost leaving the renuion , got lost going to Lousiville  but I found my way back.  The rain was a welcome sight since we don't much rain in Vegas.    But I found all the shopping centers  HA!

A Great Big THANK YOU!! to our terrific reunion committee. You always know how hard people work based on the success of the event. Based on the impressive success of our reunion, we have a dedicated, hard working, caring committee. I had a terrific time at the reunion: just not enough time to catch up with everyone. Was great to see you from a distance even if I did not get to chat with you this year...next time.
By the way, for those of you who went to Big Picadome, do you remember the hollow tree in the southeast corner of the play yard. The hollow part faced away from the yard toward the street. I loved hiding in the hollow of that tree: hidden from everyone. So fun!

I am still recalling a wonderful weekend with our class. Again thank you committee and volunteers for planning the grand reunion of 2014. Now back in the swing of things in NY and almost ready for fall. My email is cltboyer4@gmail.com. See you all in 5 years.

Belatedly I want to say another thanks to the  reunion committee for the great time we had, and that's only possible with much time, work and organization behind the scenes.  It was terrific!  Jim and I made it to part of the Friday events, and planned on all Saturday's, but like Jim McDaniel life intervened on Saturday.  Was so great to get to talk with the ones we did.  Also like the idea of the Lexington alums getting together more frequently for lunch or dinner and more talk?  If you like the idea, too, shoot an email, and we can try to do something every so many months.  eveseymour@gmail.com  It was great seeing the ones we got to, andso much fun finding out what all you have been doing.  Great to be part of such a truly wonderful group!

Dear Classmates,

I regret to inform you that my wife Anna Lee Nave Locklar, (Class of '66) and I have lost a daughter after a 12 year, very difficult but incredibly courageous fight with cancer.  Jennifer Locklar Hall, Class of 1990, passed away on Decmber 11, 2022 leaving a husband and four children. She was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, esthesioneuroblastoma, cancer of the olfactory nerve, in August, 2010.  Jennifer was one of the most positive and fun loving persons anyone could ever meet and maintained her positivity and sense of humour throughout the entire ordeal.  She endured 3 major surgeries, radiation treatments, chemotherapy treatments and experimental nuclear medicine treatments over the span of 12+ years.  Everyone who met Jennifer loved her and her very outgoing personality.  She thoroughly enjoyed doing life, up until the end, with her family, children and countless friends she had made over her lifetime.  She wanted to be known as a person of FAITH, and a person of JOY!  Needless, to say our entire family is devastated.  She does leave behind a vast number of friends and acquaintances who recall her with many memories of that joyful, fun-loving spirit.  Her four children are graduates or attendees of Franklin County High School and The Frankfort Christian Academy.  Her seven nieces and nephews are all graduates or attendees of the University of Kentucky, Lafayette High School or The Lexington Christian Academy.   A very special, universally-loved GENERAL has moved on to and welcomed by the Lord to our future HOME!
